Ola, the popular taxi-booking service, has today announced that it is adding electric-rickshaws to its available list. Thanks to that, now users can book an e-rickshaw ride right from Ola’s official mobile app. Prime Minister Narendra Modi took the first Ola e-rickshaw ride, during the launch event of ‘Stand-Up India.’

Around 60 percent of India’s population currently resides in small towns, so Ola believes this new service will definitely help them to strengthen mobility in these small towns. The company announced that it will launch 5,100 Ola e-rickshaws in the beginning and will make it available across Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida, Faridabad and Ghaziabad.
